This is hysterical...

...and mostly true...

still crazy

Okay...now that's funny. Hat tip Instapundit.

What is not funny is the threats of violence. This rent a mob could easily spin out someone crazy enough to do something awful. The assassination threats on twitter could just be the tip of the iceberg.
Why is no one in the White House denouncing these sentiments?
It has the feeling of chaos and anarchy and someone somewhere must be thinking they can gain from this.

Overwrought

It is a little amusing to read some of the comments of HRC supporters. I started out feeling badly for them because I understand that there were a lot of emotions attached to this outcome. But the hysteria, the hand wringing, the 'america voted for hate' type of comments sort of deflate my empathy for their loss.

I have to stop myself and realize that if all you read/hear is the traditional media,  this response is not as unexpected as all that.

And yet, today, in 2016, I want to tell all of them to suck it up, toughen up and stop being emotional wrecks.

Really, isn't it a bit early to already succumb to THS?

911?

Really?
Someone just said on Facebook that the worst day since 9/11 is 11/08.
That is a shameful, preposterous thing to say and one wonders what can cause people to think things like that.
Then, I read some of the media articles posted today.

Aha.

The easiest way to calm down is to try to only read original source material rather than the garbage being peddled by the media. Not all is how it seems to be...change the filter through which you absorb events and you might not be as worried...But beware...there are crackpots on the other side too..you have to be careful and discerning but it is possible with some effort to cut through...

LOL...(Hat tip Jonah Goldberg)

That's rich.

Almost comical to listen to Van Jones lament the possibility that he has to find a way to explain things to his children when they get up the morning after Trump's victory.

Here's a suggestion. How about dust off the talk you had with them when you had to explain cigars, BJ's,  and vulnerable interns...

They didn't even litter

I remember when there was a Tea Party movement in the US. I knew quite a few of the people in the movement. They were decent, hard working Americans who were upset by the profligate spending of the Republicans under Bush and the Democrats under Obama. Taxed Enough Already was their mantra.

Imagine my surprise when I would hear some of my Canadian friends deride the Tea Party movement as bunch of racists who were against an African American President. It did not require a lot of investigation to figure out where they were getting this information from.
ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and of course, right here at home on the CBC.

Did I mention they were polite, hardworking and didn't even litter?

Now we have Donald Trump.

Can you hear them now?

Enthusiasm gap (Hat tip Powerline blog)

I just saw a remarkable post that suggests to me that there really is an enthusiasm gap...in Minnesota!
It is hard to believe that straggling crowds at Hillary events can over come the huge lineups and passions seen at Trump rallies...Tuesday will tell I suppose.

scary

That was a scary moment at the Trump rally.
I have to give him credit. He was back out in a few minutes and quite resilient.
As his momentum increases, I fear the threats to his safety will as well.

I spoke to a friend last night and now have an inkling as to why HRC can even be close. This friend had absolutely no idea about the FBI investigation or at least why Comey sent that letter to congress.
My explanation fell on deaf ears, my friend attributing all my comments to my 'right wing' bias. This person never watches anything except the nightly news or CNN. She rarely reads the papers. So her entire knowledge base comes from the people who want HRC to win. It was a fascinating, if frustrating, discussion.

Apparently the gender issue had relevance to this person as well. I honestly found it astounding. It is 2016 for heaven's sake. We've already had Golda Meir, Margaret Thatcher and Kim Campbell etc. and none of them had to run a Bimbo Eruption unit for their  husband in order to take a run at the big seat....sheesh...

The thin blue line is getting thinner. When do we get to the point where these men and women say 'enough'?

RIP

I think there is something positive about the recent turn of events in the presidential race.
If HRC is defeated, it suggests to me that the universe is finding its balance.
She has gotten away with an awful to these past thirty some years and if she is finally exposed, it seems things are as they should be. If she is finally exposed by a sexting pervert, it sort of brings her whole sordid life full circle.
